Silver Medal Of The Virgin Mary Mounted On Marble With Silver Circle, Bronze Top and Back, Marcel Claude Renard Circa 1930
This is a beautiful medal of The Virgin Mary in silver with gold halo and highlights.
It is mounted onto a lovely piece of marble with a brown veining then surrounded by an empire style silver ring. The fitting at the top for hanging the piece is solid bronze.
The medal is 6 cms in diameter and the marble 10 cms.
Made as a souvenir of Lourdes it is signed M.R. which I believe is for Marcel Claude Renard who was at his peak in the 1930s.
He was an exceptional artist in bronze and a brilliant medallic artists. A work by him recently sold at Christies in London for over $21,000 so this beautiful medal is very much more affordable.
It will ship by courier as standard and this is reflected in the shipping cost.
