Lourdes Silver Brooch With Scene of The Grotto At Lourdes, Lovely Condition, Circa 1880, 3.5 Centimetre Diameter
This is a beautifully detailed brooch with very fine filigree work. In the centre is a medal depicting the Grotto Scene at Lourdes. To the right is a depiction of The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Interestingly, the medal does not show the cross that now sits in front of the basilica after the new church, The Rosary Basilica was completed in 1899, so this medal dates from before 1899.
It measures 3.5 centimetres in diameter and has a barrel clasp at the rear.
