Limoges Enamel Plaque by R Restoueix Depicting Limousin Country Scene
This gorgeous framed plaque was hand painted by the much-loved artist R. Restoueix, who worked for the Limoges factory in the late 1950's. His work is highly collected in France for it's fineness in replicating master paintings on Limoges enamel.
The colours of the painting are rich and luxurious. The enamel piece on which the scene is painted has a rectangular convex shape, which adds to the richness and the depth of the painting. The thick glaze brings out the colours. The painting is signed at the bottom left by Restoueix (R. Restoueix Limoges)
It is housed in a beautiful oak frame with a gilded border which in turn is housed in a lovely goosen frame gilded inside.
The enamel itself measures 5.25 inches by 3.5 inches an the total size, including the frame is 12.25 inches by 10 inches.
The enamel is in perfect condition and there is just a slight nick to the goosen frame on the left hand side.
