Holy Water Font, Very Rare Bisque Angel Holy Water Font By Mauger & Fils, Stamped and Numbered, Circa 1880
What a beautiful Holy Water Font this is. Wonderfully painted in vibrant colours that are as good today as the day it was made. The gold highlights around the neck are in pristine condition so this piece has hung for a long time in a very safe place out of the sunlight.
It is bisque porcelain or 'biscuit' as we would call it and the font itself is tin glazed to ensure it holds water.

This lovely stoup measures 20 centimetres tall, 11 centimetres wide and is 10 centimetres deep.
It is in almost perfect condition with just one tiny crack in the polychrome of the right arm of the angel. The arm and the beautifully gilded font are strong.
