French Porcelain Bowl, Hand Painted and Signed J Douniere 1895, Two Children Through Ivy Surrounded Window 9 Inches In Diameter, 2 Ins Deep
What a beautiful and whimsical painting of two young children gazing at something interesting out of an ivy surrounded window.
There is no marking on the porcelain plate itself so I assume it was a blank from one of the Limoges factories which was then decorated by the artist.
I now it is 1895 as it has '95' after the signature and that cannot pissibly be 1995 due to the style of the painting and the porcelain used. Also the porcelain is the typical pure white of the Limoges porcelain and translucent when held to the light.
It is not perfect as it has a very fine hairline crack to the bottom right edge which etends from the inner gold band to the outer gold embelishment. It is so fine it is extremely difficult to see.
This lovely bowl will ship with tracking as standard and this is reflected in the shipping costs.
