This antique French Faith, Hope and Charity rosary, dating to circa 1890, features hand-cut pale blue crystal beads, a puffed silver cross, and a heart-and-anchor link medal. The five-decade rosary measures 50 cm long and weighs 45 g, with beads approximately 0.8 cm in diameter. Silver-capped Our Father beads and hallmarks on the cross and link medal complete this distinctive devotional piece.
Such a beautiful rosary made with pale blue crystal beads. It is very rare as I do not think I have ever seen another rosary that was made to depict Faith, Hope and Charity.
Faith is, of course, the cross while Hope and Charity are depicted by the puffed silver link medal in the shape of a heart with the anchor below.
This is a substantial rosary as each of the beads measures approximately 0.8cm in diameter. I say approximately because they are all hand cut. The 'Our Father beads are capped in silver, a sure sign of quality and it is, of course, hallamarked on the cross and the link medal.
It is a 5 decade rosary and measures 50 centimetres in length and it weighs 45 grams.
