Virgin Mary Plaque In Silver and Bronze By Raymond Tschudin

A beautiful silver plaque of The Virgin Mary with her face set into a gilded golden halo.

It is signed Tschudin for Raymond Tschudin who was born in 1916 and died in 1998. Tschudin studied at the National School of Art and under Henri Dropsy, one of the finest medalists in France.

Tschudin exhibited at The Exhibition Of French Artists in Paris and gained the bronze medal in 1838 and the silver medal in 1944.

He produced a wide variety of religious medals and sculptures, usually on a religious theme.

The blue ebnamel of the robe has faded over the many decades but, otherwise, this plaque is in excellent condition. It would originally have been mounted onto a board or marble and the fixtures to do this are still attached at the rear.

It is large as it measures 10.5 centimetres in diameter
