A rare and beautiful rosary made by Adolphe Penin of Lyon in around 1910.

The link medal bears the insignia of AP for Adolphe Penin a member of the famous Penin family of Lyon who have been making superb quality medals in France since 1807 when his grandfather Marius began. Many of the medals from this family adorn the best museums of the world.

The cross, chain and the link medal are all heavy gold plated. The link medal has Mary on one side and is blank on the reverse which signifies a communion rosary.

There are 59 beads and each is hand carved and individually mounted, a sure sign of quality, and they are of perfect mother of pearl.

This lovely delicate rosary measures 36 centimetres in length and weighs 15 grams.
