Lourdes Water Collected Fresh From the Grotto at Lourdes 10 Litres In Purpose Made Plastic Lourdes Containers

At the Fountains of the Sanctuary fed by the water from the Grotto of the Apparitions, you can respond to the invitation of the Virgin Mary: "Go and drink at the Spring"

My wife Diane and I are very lucky to live not far from Lourdes and many people have asked us to collect water for them so I have decided to list this service as an item.

PLEASE NOTE: The prices include international tracked shipping to anywhere in the world. So although the listing is 'free shipping' we all understand that there is no such thing. Etsy insists that shops offer 'free shipping' to US based customers so I have included the exact cost of shipping and packaging, calculated on weight, in the listing price so as not to discriminate against all my wonderful clients who live in the rest of the world.

IMPORTANT PACKAGING NOTICE

Firstly all the packaging is from recycled materials, including the bottles and caps.

To absolutely ensure that the Lourdes water that leaves here arrives intact there are several layers of protection. Each purpose made bottle is fitted with a tamper proof cap. It is then wrapped in food quality cling film and sealed with tape.

The containers used to collect and store the water are made of a special stable plastic that will not add or detract anything from the water inside. The water is collected fresh direct from the spring flowing from the Grotto of the Massabielle next to the River Gave in Lourdes. The 500ml containers in which it is shipped are then filled directly from the collecting containers so only pure Lourdes water enters the shipping containers.

The water takes some time to collect as it is not pumped, it just flows along the specially constructed mini viaduct and falls out of the taps. The water itself is completely free to anyone who wishes to go to the grotto and collect it so the price reflects the cost of collection and the container.

The advantage of this is that you know that this is definitely water from the Grotto and you can see in the photographs myself and my wife on one of our collection trips.

Many millions of people each year make the pilgrimage to Lourdes and drink and bathe in this water. To date 47 miracles have been recorded at Lourdes itself. However, at the beginning of 2017 the French government under a European directive prevented the Sanctuary at Lourdes from shipping the Lourdes water for health reasons. Quite strange as there is no prevention of the millions of Lourdes pilgrims from drinking the water from the spring as the French government tested it and found it to be perfectly safe to drink.

Lourdes water is water which flows from a spring in the Grotto of Massabielle in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, France. The location of the spring was described to Bernadette Soubirous by an apparition of Our Lady of Lourdes on 25 February 1858. Since that time many millions of pilgrims to Lourdes have followed the instruction of Our Lady of Lourdes to "drink at the spring and wash in it".

Although never formally encouraged by the Church, Lourdes water has become a focus of devotion to the Virgin Mary at Lourdes. Since the apparitions, many people have claimed to have been cured by drinking or bathing in it, and the Lourdes authorities provide it free of charge to any who ask for it.
