Henriot Quimper Ink Well Set With Pen Tray, French Faience, circa 1922 30 x 17 x 9 Centimetres
A beautiful ink well set in very good condition from Henriot Quimper of Brittany France. One of the detachable inkwells is original whilst the send is a replacement. In the centre is a repository for water as ink in those days could be quite thick.
According to the mark on the bottom this piece was made around 1922 at the Henriott Quimper factory in Brittany in northern France. They are hand made, fired and decorated as are all the Quimper pieces.
Each piece of Henriot Quimper pottery is signed on the back by the artist prior to the firing. This signature guarantees that the faience has been hand made in the workshops of the Quimper manufacturer and It confirms that it is not a copy but a true Quimper original.
These ink wells by Quimper are very rare and one sold on 1st Dibs recently for 380 euros which did not have any of the ink wells.
The price includes tracked shipping world wide.
