French Carved Folding Up and Down Child High Chair on Wheels, Mid 19th Century, Superb Condition

It is so rare to find a child's chair of this quality that is in almost perfect condition. I say almost because, of course, it was used by a child for its purpose so it has a few rubs but the raffia work of the seat, the image on the play board, the decor at the base, all of the abacus beads and all of the working parts are excellent and work perfectly.

This beautiful chair is completely hand made and comes from a small chateau at Serignac near Agen in France.

The chair stands 106 centimetres tall and is 55 centimetres at its widest point.
