Antique Mother Of Pearl and Solid Silver Corpus Christi, Art Nouveau Pendant Cross, 8.5 x 4.5 cm, French circa 1870

This is a beautiful antique mother of pearl cross with a solid silver Corpus Christi and INRI plaque.

The figure of Our Lord Jesus Christ beautifully done and is solid silver, the whole proportions are excellent. This is very rare as most of these mother of pearl crosses have a Corpus Christi pressed out of a flat plate but his one is wonderfully sculpted from a solid piece of silver.

There is a clear hallmark which denotes it is solid silver and this mark has been in use in France since 1838. It is just visible on the rear of the Corpus Christi.
