Two beautiful brassards, which are the silk arm decoration traditionally worn by a boy in France on their 1st Holy Communion. They are always white to represent the purity of soul.

They were both hand made by Madame Jeanne Lagrange who was elected as the premier couturier in Paris in 1894. The following year she married Eugene Dubillon who became a director of Le Bon Marche in Paris.

Every stitch of these beautiful brassards were made by her as a labour of love for her son.

Included are three hand made invitations for Mr & Mrs Dubillon and their daughter Madeleine. The cards themselves are collector's items in their own right as they are from the family Dubillon. They are hand made and hand written and the engraving on the front has been hand coloured.

The ceremony for this 1st communion was evidently a long affair as the menu inside is for lunch AND dinner.

Both brassards are in excellent condition with just a few storage marks.

The glass covered box is also hand made and measures 38 x 16 x 5 centimetres

Every item from this collection will ship with full international tracking and DDP

It will also be accompanied by a hand signed letter from Bruno Dubillon the great grandson of Mr & Mrs Dubillon.
