Gold Capped Chalcedony Orange Carnelian Cross 3.5x2.5 Centimetres, Hallmarked on Bail, Excellent Condition Circa 1930

A beautifully made Chalcedony Orange Carnelian cross with a solid gold cap which is hallmarked on the bale.

It measures 3.5 x 2.5 centimetres and is perfect.

The gold is alaways a minimum of 18 carat as this is France where 9 or 14 carat gold are not allowed to be used.

Carnelian is the orange version of Chalcedony which is the form of Quartz that is compact and microcrystalline. It occurs in many different forms, colors, and patterns, and many varieties have been used as gemstones since antiquity.

This stunning little cross is a beautiful even redish orange colour and is very striking.
