Antique Rosary Bracelet, Solid Silver Medal and Chain, Circa 1900, 26 cm In Length
A beautiful tenner rosary bracelet or 'dizainer' as it would be called here in France. This is superb quality. I am no gemologist so I have no idea whether the beads are actually amethyst or not so I am assuming they are the wonderful art glass beads that France was so famous for producing at the turn of the last century.
Each bead is 1 cm in diameter and is capped at both ends with solid silver caps. The chain is silver as is the clasp and the attached medal. Easy to determine as there is a clear 'boar's head' mark on the clasp which denotes silver of 925 or purer.
There are two Our Father beads and ten Hail Mary beads.
The medal has the Holy Grail on one side and is blank on the reverse so this would make a fabulous communion present as it can be engraved. It is 2 cm in diameter.
It is so unusual to see a rosary bracelet of this kind in such superb condition and with each bead silver capped.
This lovely bracelet weighs 19.3 grams.
